1. The exploitation of that event has soured our feelings of it.
The proper mourning and naturally healing was interrupted by exploitative wars and breaches of civil liberties. We have lost 5000+ soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan. We lost as many or more to a devastating hurricane as our government ignored suffering. What the terrorist attacks represent was the beginning of the end.

The end of a Super Power. What should have been a solemn and unifying event has squandered for profit and power. We haven't forgotten the events of that day, we are just more disgusted by what our government did in response. We are sickened by the exploitation, and have had enough. We will not scatter in fear anymore. The curtain has been pulled back and we saw a small group of war criminals at the levers.

Enough.
