77. Know how you feel... very sorry
Edited on Mon May-05-08 10:22 AM by Sundoggy
My ex and I had been told we couldn't have children so we lavished all our love on our dogs. When our favorite, Sam, a 5 year old dalmatian, died, we were heartbroken for years.

Then amazingly we had a son, then two daughters. We finally had children to lavish our love on. Then our son got cancer, suffered for two years, and died at 19. He will have been gone a year this Friday.

I only thought I knew what heartbreak was. Our dogs are our companions and friends but what they teach us is that life is ephemeral, and that you should never love someone or something without knowing that it will end someday, and that what counts is not wasting a single moment.

Sorry if this seems overly dark, you'd understand if you were in my shoes.
