25. Atheist/Muslim/GBLT face too much discrimination, and haven't we had a 'disabled' president already?
The only way an atheist or GBLT person could get elected is if they lie and say they aren't an atheist or gay/bi/lesbian/trans. If a gay person ran before stuff like gay marriage is legal in all of the USA you just know that the GOP and others would brand them a radical who wants to allow gays to marry, and unfortunately a bit under 2/3's of the nation is still against that according to the last few polls I've seen. Interestingly though, in a poll I once saw posted on DU, by a few percentage points people are more willing to vote for a gay guy then for an atheist.

As for other groups like Indian and Jews, there's not much of them, so it really depends on a clever politician just happening to be Jewish or an Indian. The only indian politician I can even think of is Bobby Jindal.

Also haven't we sort of already had a disabled president? FDR couldn't walk, he had to sit in a wheel chair. It is true however that he hid that disability from the public quite well, and he trained himself to lean on others, and heavy objects, to help him stand up briefly to look normal in public as he delivered a speech, etc. I also just can't see a person who's blind or deaf being a serious contender for president, they'll be viewed as too handicapped for the job.
