Larry Craig to write book on experiences in past year ("a look at a dysfunctional Congress")

Sen. Larry Craig is writing a book telling his own story and describing his experience over the past year.

Craig was arrested in a Minneapolis airport restroom in June by an undercover officer investigating reports of gay men soliciting sex. The senator pleaded guilty to a charge of disorderly conduct, but later said he wanted to withdraw that plea. That request is pending in the Minnesota courts.

The senator denied doing anything wrong, or that he had ever engaged in homosexual behavior.

Craig told KIVI Channel 6 that he doesn't consider the book an autobiography. He said it would be a lens through which to look at a dysfunctional Congress.

Craig is retiring from the U.S. Senate at the end of this year, ending a 28-year congressional career.
