7. Sadly, Kennedy had a number of physical afflictions.
I doubt he would have lived long past the age of 70. With the Addison's, the back injury, the physical stress his public responsibilities put him under... His waning years would have been difficult. Of course the larger tragedy of losing Kennedy is no doubt the far different course he would have led us on in Vietnam. It would still have been a royal cockup, but I doubt the phrase "Vietnam syndrome" would have applied to the Pentagon culture with quiet the same meaning.
