The food thingie is just another of Bill's fad causes. He's also anti-medicine. For awhile he was gung ho about PETA.

Despite his tendency to embrace the craze of the day, Bill Maher has a smart side and can condense political truths into succinct paragraphs. One of those truisms got him banished from the networks after 9/11. His most recent one was that fundies need only look at the swine flu to see evolution at work, in real time.
