The criminal in the story is ok with killing somebody with his car. They caught him before he killed somebody . High five.
If I was part of the team that caught that freak BEFORE he killed somebody, I'd be high fiving too.

We had a similar situation near my house. This is actual real life.

When the cops caught up with the bad guy his truck was crashed ON TOP of a a small car which contained a mom and her toddler kid. Blood was running out of the car into the gutters.
The cops said to the dirt bad "You know you just killed that woman in that car." Dirt bags reply was "The bitch should have got out of my way."

When cops throw their lights on I pull over with my hands on the wheel and stay put and shut up. After they figure out I am not the guy who is going to try to murder them tonight they are professional. I have never had a cop kick me in the head. Of course I have never wend flying down a street the wrong way without concern for the people I may kill in that street.

If you are somebody who has been so interested in escaping the police that you were willing to kill other people to get away, then maybe you have been kicked in the head to make sure you don't try to kill one of the officers.

A bad guy who was willing to kill you or your family got kicked in the head. I can live with that.
