I don't think the church is responsible at all. I think people are responsible.

But even accepting your premise, how in the world is someone's soul going to be saved by coming to collect a television? Isn't some sincerity necessary?

I'd much prefer people come to my church because they feel welcomed and drawn to God.

I think this is cynical and wrong-headed.
