You underestimate the mob, which doesn't need intellectual erudition to make decisions.

In any case, I am not fact-resistant. My OP and other posts on this thread refer to sound political history and theory. A few polls mean very little at this stage and always underestimate the radical. Look at how low Pat Buchanan was in New Hampshire when he ran against President George HW Bush. Then he really got a piece of him when the votes were counted, many more votes than anyone expected.
