Reactions to Arizona law...

Sadly, the cries of Naziism, racism, and Stalinism have completely blinded most Americans at this point to the fact that there are many in border states who ARE SCARED. Like it or not, this is an area of operations where our Federal Government HAS FAILED US, and it's sad that so many (including hundreds on DU) have dismissed people's real fear for the safety of their families as nothing but unadulterated racism.

Is this law extremely misguided? YES. Is it going to end the violence and danger in our border states caused by the Federal Government's complete and total failure on this issue? PROBABLY NOT. But are there real lives at stake on this issue and are many people's actions a result of real fear? YES.

Sometimes I think some on DU need to take a step back from trying to use everything as a tool of political convenience, and consider what they would do with a family in the same situation, with out-of-control border "coyotes" trafficking in humans, drugs and weapons within miles of your home.
