2. That's the biggest problem; the media and their opinion shaping polls

and non stop talking heads. It would be one thing if the defeatist talk was only uttered by the right wingers, but the corporate media is right there, touting corporate commissioned polls as though it is the American people speaking, when that is highly questionnable.

I ask folks.....Not excited about voting for Democrats in November?

Well, that's fine, but

If enough Democrats sit it out, this is what we will get:

A very possible takeover of a currently Democratic Congress,
in the house and/or the Senate

which will be a major Defeat for Democrats,

and be reported as such 24/7....even if the "Ds" retain congress,

as too many seats flipping to the "Rs" will be framed as a major win for astro-turf teabaggers and their corporate friends,

and many of their policy views will be touted as mainstream views by the media without end,

which will mean Gridlock in Congress with the blessing of "the American People",

and a major slowdown in getting any progressive policies through,

which may mean a 2012 possible victory for a Republican candidate with teabag values and all that they represent,

which means whichever progressive believes that being a "no-show" due to "lack of enthusiasm" in November will "Show" those Democrats a thing or two, well, they aren't even close. It will only be interpreted as Americans being more conservative than they are progressive, and those in Congress, including the Dems left will react accordingly; they always do.

So what does not being excited about voting in November gain those who choose to act on this lack of excitement.....?

a whole lot more in the opposite direction of what they actually want,
and most likely for a whole lot longer than they currently figure.

So although many in the media as well as on the Internet will continue to push for, and encourage the discouragement of the Democratic party as a whole; being successful in this endeavor will not serve progressives well in the short or in the long run.

This is not meant to scare, but it does provides a more than very likely scenario. :(
