I had a scary thought this morning

It was this:

What will happen if Glenn Beck has a complete psychotic breakdown?

I was beginning to think he had reached that point as I tried to make sense of Beck's bizarre commencement speech at Liberty University this Saturday. I went back and watched it again and no, he hasn't completely lost it yet. He is, however, displaying classic symptoms of manic behavior: Paranoid delusions, racing thoughts, lack of sleep, confusion, frequent weeping, etc.

If Glenn Beck needs to be hospitalized, what will his followers do?

If Beck disappears from public view for a while and then comes back recanting the crazy things he has said, many of his follwers will no doubt see him as a real-life Winston Smith, re-educated by the OBAMATRON. Beck has already set himself up as a messianic sacrificial lamb in their eyes. All hell could break loose if that happens.

On the other hand, if Beck goes off the deep end and doesn't get treatment, he may end up a pariah, leading his people into the wilderness like Joseph Smith. He seems to be preparing his followers for something like that.
