3. Such a waste of human potential, whether they be Privates or Colonels.
From what I know about operations, which is the little I hear back from returning Soldiers and Marines, the ranks and MOSs most vulnerable are the enlisted, NCO and officer company grade ranks (LT-CAPT) of the Infantry, Transportation and the MPs. At the Battalion Level there are a number of Majors and Colonels who have lost their lives in battle and due to IEDs but ... very few in comparison to all other ranks of mostly younger troops.

That is, when I scan the news articles for identification of casualties, It gives me the strong impression that the vast majority of combat deaths are young men under the age of 30 y.o.

Such a waste of youthful potential. :cry:
