I was living in Orange County and dating someone from San Diego at the time. I remember saying to him one night "Look, I know you San Diegoans LOVED Pete Wilson when he was your Mayor. So would you please take him back and give the rest of the state a break???" I wasn't the least bit political at the time, don't think I even voted in that governortorial election.
Fun memory of a happy time with someone I was crazy about...
Thanks for he memory! Later I became inspired into politics by Jerry Brown and his presidential run in 1992 - one of the most exciting and fun times of my life, in spite of his losing the nomination. Now I live in Oregon and am sorry I won't be able to vote for Jerry this election.
