Presidents to attend inauguration of Humala (with one surprise non-attendee)

Inauguration is Thursday June 28. Presidents who have confirmed they will be there are:

Cristina
Evo
Dilma
Santos
Piñera
Lugo
Mujica
Lobo
Colom

From Spain, Prince Felipe de Borbón
Hugo Chavez will not be present because of his convalescence.

There is another president who will NOT attend the ceremony.

Alan Garcia of PERU.

He said he would skip it because he did not want to be target of jeering and catcalls from members of the Peruvian parliament in front of all the foreign dignitaries. He said it would look bad for Peru.

As for the symbolic transfer of the presidential sash, Garcia said it would not have worked because the sash he wears is too long and too wide to fit Humala.
