Their hatred of him will be their undoing

You don't have to be a rocket scientist to figure out that all this bickering of how to bring debt back into managable terms will have on the economy - it ERODES CONFIDENCE. It PRESERVES uncertainty. No sane person would willingly invest, or hire, or explore new business possibilities under conditions so cynical. You won't spend those dollars - you will hang on to them - because they just might be your last. This will have a devastating effect on main street - and also on Wall Street. Say good bye to any recovery. Say hello Depression.

So, the GOP - against the wishes of Wall Street, of many well known economists want to keep this game going on and on and on - with small step by step incremental increases along with debt reductions....they want to drag it out - especially and most especially because 2012 is election year.

They hate him so much they will entrench a depression.....and blame him for it.

BUT - I believe if elections were held today - Obama would win in a landslide. So - this is the pickle of their hatred.

If they actually did something that would be good for the entire nation - Obama and the democrats would actually have more difficulty.

Look at what happened with the FAA shut down. Everybody thought (silly) that airfares would reduce because there were no longer taxes being collected.....surprise! NOPE - The airlines promptly raised prices to absorb the savings. There is GOP ideology at its highest - and proves beyond a doubt that their concept fails.

Look at ten years(?) of Bush tax cuts. Where are the jobs? Where is the growth? Evaporated by businesses absorbing any savings and leaving the workers scratching their heads wondering how to put food on the table.

I have been critical of President Obama for bending over backwards to try to get along with them. I have been critical of him, not so much because of his compromising rhetoric, but because I think he beleived at the end of the day - they might bend just a little if he bent allot. They will not bend. You cannot reason with irrational people.

Why do I think Obama would still win - after so much disenfranchisement and dissappointment? It isn't because of Bachman, or Romney or whoever they put up to run. It is because they, as a party are bankrupt of anything other than rabid ideology - and every single time they bump up against Obama, their hatred is obvious for everyone to see. They own their actions now. Every single fucking "no" belongs to them.

And yet, this debt ceiling issue should not be about elections. SHOULD NOT. Herr Boehner - you made it so - and so your party owns the consequences of such. If the economy sucks (and under his plan - there is no doubt it WILL suck)- it is now on YOUR head, and yours alone. That is the consequence of not compromising. Too friggin stupid to realize your own intractable ideology is going to destroy the republican party.....and the nation.

AND - if Obama loses - what will you have gained - a nation bankrupt and broken, and mired in a deep depression.
