south of my county and went to the east and west, leveling Ringgold, GA, and wreaking havoc in TN and NE AL. It is so sad. I have been trying to keep up with the progress of animal rescue in those areas. Many animals have been displaced and there are humane groups in the area trying to rescue/reunite pets with their owners. Facebook has been invaluable helping people to connect. I know it might seem trivial to some folks, when (human)lives have been lost and homes/businesses destroyed, but for some folks, their animals are their family. DUers, if you can spare a few $$, you might consider donating to some of the groups who send in teams to help with animal rescue.

Thanks for bringing this up. I hope it will raise awareness of our need to maintain connections to others, esp. in times of trouble, when we need to overlook regional and cultural differences, political parties, religious ideology and personal bias.
