22. So, let people die.
It is NOT new. The ASPCA came *before* any effort on behalf of children. As a matter of fact, CHILDREN were even sent to animal rescue shelters for CARE, because there was nothing for CHILDREN.

Of COURSE many people are "dependent" -- There is no place where you can go to find a piece of land to build your own house if you have no money. There is no place to just get food for yourself if you have no money. I'm sure you realize that the frontier is gone, and there are no more beaver pelts for the taking.

It is clear there is a sizeable number of the population of this country who don't really concern themselves with the welfare of people. Animals take precedence.

After Katrina, when the media focus was off the people who had nothing and nowhere to go, they were killing themselves while affluent people were going to NOLA to "rescue" animals and "foster" them and adopt them out.

Human SUICIDE didn't matter. The "fuzzbutts" did. NOTHING NEW ABOUT THAT.

Skewed priorities.
