7. This Case Will Take Years...
The newspapers have been losing money and value as more people turn to the internet and the "telie" for their news. The real gold in the Murdoch realm is the Fox network. The good thing is if Murdoch is found guilty of any type of crime abroad it can be used by the FCC to revoke the broadcast licenses of the 27 or so Fox television stations...most located in major markets. It's been done before...the FCC closed down RKO General for various violations (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RKO_General)...but it took over two decades for it to happen and allowed RKO principals to sell off those stations for big money and free of any personal liability.

The Fox properties are and will remain valuable and I suspect that there may be a shake-up and split in the Fox board to isolate and protect these assets while they find buyers for the various parts. I hope Murdoch is taken down but he still has a lot of power and money to throw that will slow down any real financial collapse of his company...there's too much at stake for too many here.
