8. Talked to one of those "job creators" last night - he's hiring in India
Libertarian jackass at a party last night, complaining about the economy, and then saying that he "had to" hire editorial workers in India in order to "stay competitive".

Fortunately, someone else in the publishing business was there, and she challenged him on it, saying that her company no longer farmed out work to India because of quality issues.

It was gratifying to see that most of the other people in the kitchen where we were sitting let him know that they weren't impressed by his "business savvy".

About 15 years ago, this guy was whining that he couldn't find a competent full-time bookkeeper. I said, "You probably just can't find one that wants to work for slave wages. What are you paying?" $15,000/year. I shit you not. Granted, it was the 90s, but even then.... So clearly, US minimum wage is WAY too high for this greedy bastard.
