318. ALEC Press Release - ALEC State Legislators Push Back EPA Regs... on... well... EVERYTHING June 14

ALEC State Legislators Push Back EPA’s Onslaught of Regulations
ALEC’S EPA Regulatory Train Wreck proving to be successful

CLIPS:
(EMAILWIRE.COM, June 14, 2011 ) Washington, DC -- The American Legislative Exchange Council applauds the 34 states that have taken measures to demonstrate their disapproval with the onslaught of regulations and restrictions from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The EPA’s policies are economically damaging and will not result in a significant environmental impact.

Since January 2011, a total of 22 states have introduced resolutions in opposition to EPA’s plan to regulate greenhouse gases, and 13 of these states have succeeded in adopting the resolution. These resolutions, modeled after ALEC’s Resolution in Opposition to EPA’s Plan to Regulate Greenhouse Gases Under the Clean Air Act, oppose EPA’s endangerment finding and any regulation of greenhouse gases, citing the massive economic burden that would result and the global nature of climate emissions.

No mention of the dozens of other ALEC bills their business partners/customers/charitable 'donors' have written with anti-environmental clauses and content.

... With no regard to economic realities or democratic accountabilities , the EPA has implemented these regulations with very little government oversight. Additionally, the Agency failed to do any cost-benefit analysis of their pending regulations, leaving that responsibility to state agencies.

"...With no regard to economic realities or democratic accountabilities " - What could possibly be MORE ANTI-DEMOCRATIC than a small group of corporate ALEC customers (and hundreds of their corporate lawyers) WRITING LAW with no public review, discussion or discourse?

AND ..."very little government oversight" , ALEC is the ultimate NO OVERSIGHT source of law in this Country, period. Ridiculous.

"...implemented these regulations with very little government oversight." That's rich, how about HUNDREDS of bills with NO CITIZEN INPUT? The majority of 'cost-benefit analysis' is thin at best in no peer review, non-scientific or economic sources. A report referenced on 'massive economic impact" is by the also Koch-funded Cato Institute.

ALEC will continue to support the efforts of state legislatures in resisting the EPA’s regulatory agenda. ALEC urges Congress to take the concerns of these states seriously and stop this regulatory train wreck in order to avoid the enormous negative impacts the EPA’s overreaching regulations will have.

Need to map the MULTIPLE web sites that ALEC is running without their name being associated with them, bunch of those, not even to MENTION the MULTIPLE similar sites run by the 57 state-level think tanks in the Heritage/State Policy Network, AND the FAKE quasi-news sites they are running as well. There are dozens of these too.
