84. ALEC members supporting puppy mills against constituents' own votes
http://www.stltoday.com/news/local/govt-and-politics/article_8a404eaf-754c-5213-a8f2-55ac7260a466.html

The Senate vote generally broke along the same lines, with urban senators voting to retain Prop B and rural senators voting to nix it.

The key votes were cast by four senators who voted to repeal Prop B even though their constituents had backed it. They were Republican Sens. Scott Rupp of Wentzville, Rob Schaaf of St. Joseph and Bob Dixon of Springfield, and Democrat Victor Callahan of Independence.

Schaaf and Dixon are ALEC members. I'm not sure about the others.

I don't know whether any of ALEC's model legislation or pro-business lobbying propaganda ("educational" material) was involved in the actual writing of the bill to repeal Prop B, but I'm not at all surprised to find ALEC members supporting the repeal, even when their constitutents voted for Prop B.

Dixon's association with ALEC is mentioned on lots of web pages about him. I found Schaaf's name on the list of Missouri House members requesting an ALEC caucus in the House:

Assuming the nearly three dozen legislators requesting an ALEC caucus are all ALEC members (no reason for them to make that request otherwise), that would mean more than 1/5 of all Missouri House members then were ALEC members.
