He's been associated with ALEC for years and even received an award from them -- something apparently unknown to the reporter who quoted Vedder shrugging off the significance of the GOP using an open-records request to harass Professor Cronon after Cronon wrote about ALEC on his blog. I also explained Vedder's connection to that "wonderful organization" (as he calls ALEC) in a comment on Professor Cronon's blog post about the university chancellor and legal counsel's responses to the open-records request.
