Army Opens New Probe Into Tillman Death

In a previous post it was reported that they fabricated the events. Now it's reported they're reopening an investigation....

WASHINGTON - The Army has opened a new investigation into the friendly fire death in Afghanistan of Pat Tillman, who quit the NFL to be a Ranger, officials said Monday. Army officials said Tillman's family sought additional information about circumstances of his April 22 death, but the fundamental account of the battle in which he was killed is not being challenged.

"The family asked questions, and we're looking to get answers to the questions," said Army spokesman Paul Boyce. Officials declined to be more specific.

The Army's Special Operations Command, based at Fort Bragg, N.C., is conducting the investigation, said command spokeswoman Carol Darby.

Then-acting Army Secretary Les Brownlee ordered the new investigation in mid-November based on the family's questions, Army officials said.

We knew when we floated that story that it was a big fat lie.

We USED the death of Pat Tilman for political gain. It was a Psy-Ops operation against the American People.

So bad that members of his family asked the local media to stop it.

and I hope he doesn't try to pull any shit over this tragedy now. Mr. Tillman is dead and that is a tragedy. Why can't the media and the public, for that matter just leave the grieving survivors alone?

Since he was "known" publicly, he was "hero-ized".

First, Jessica Lynch, who survived, and ultimately couldn't stomach the lies.

Then Tillman. Not that he may or may not have been a hero, but to have been killed by friendly fire is just too embarrasing to admit. What do you do? Make a hero out of him. Anyone who questions the heroism must be anti-American and shut down.

Same with Jessica, except she's alive to tell the tale. C'mon... their jeep got lost and somehow rolled over and they got captured and the Iraqis treated them nicely. SHE WAS LUCKY! What if she got captured now and put in the hands of the insurgents?? But no.... we needed a rah-rah rally symbol, made-for-TV, blast across Readers Digest and God and Country Fox News, so Jesse was it.

All wars do it - if you don't have a real hero (or proof of one), make one up! How better to rally around your flag?

Rule of thumb: Heroes are usually not as heroic as they are publicized to be (some are). Villians are not usually as villianous as they are publicized to be (again, some are). Most are just people trying to get through an ugly chapter of life.
