NEJM early release: valdecoxib (Bextra) safety concern . . .

"New England Journal of Medicine (NEJM), correspondence

"Cardiovascular Toxicity of Valdecoxib

"to the editor . . . . Rofecoxib (Vioxx) was recently withdrawn from the market because of an increased risk of myocardial infarction and stroke. There is a similar public health concern about another coxib, valdecoxib (Bextra), which is used by 7 million patients worldwide. To protect the safety of the public, we write to recommend that clinicians stop prescribing valdecoxib except in extraordinary circumstances. . ."

1. The ratio of omega 3 fats to omega 6 fats in the traditional human diet
before the advent of major food processing was around 1 to 1.

Now it is about 50 to 2.

This balance of fats allows for an inflammatory process to feed into itself once it has begun.

Omega three oils are cardio-protective.

They are able to help address excema, dry skin, and other dermal concerns.

They have been shown to help alleviate schizophrenia.

They have been shown to enhance a newborn's visual response time.

They lower blood pressure.

They have been shown to alleviated depression.

If it is so easy to correct one's balance of omega fats... and if it is so important to one's well being... why haven't the pharmcos put billions of dollars in ads on the telly to let us know?

Because they can't patent them, period.

In truth... there is a tidy little arrangement between the pharmcos and the health insurance cos. The pharmcos won't teach the truth that most of their crap has a safe and effective natural counterpart, and that much of their crap is nothing more than a fix for a nutritional issue.... and the insurance cos won't pay for the safe and natural intervention.

Therefore... we are stuck in the middle.. paying for healthcare that is 10X more expensive than it has to be... keeping us in financial bondage to a system that only exists in its present state because most people don't know what the real answers are to their health concerns.

If we did... many many medications would simply go away and many many people would not be dealing with their side effects and worse.

I certainly hope some of the medically trained in here disagree with me.

2. Duplicate topic plus
pdf files are not suitable sources for LBN.
You can add this to the previous post on the subject of Bextra, but be sure to clearly mark it as a pdf download.
