Cheney hunts ducks with SC GOP leaders in Colleton Co.
Dec. 22, 2004 - Colleton County authorities say Vice President Dick Cheney made a trip to South Carolina to hunt ducks with a group of elected officials.

Sheriff's Major Steve Bazzle says Cheney arrived in a military helicopter at the Pon Pon Plantation Monday night and left before lunch Tuesday.

A Charleston newspaper says the vice president was joined by Governor Mark Sanford, Senator Lindsey Graham and Senator-elect Jim DeMint. Spokesmen for those officials would not confirm or deny the reports.

The Charleston Post & Courier newspaper reports Cheney and his party shot their limit of ducks.

4. Shot their limit!
When I lived in that area the well to do were often 'Caught' seeding the abandoned rice ponds with food for the ducks. Then hunting required no skill-just point and shoot.

I killed a lot of creatures as a commercial fisherman. I never did it for fun.

What do these wealthy people get out of killing the birds? Surely they do not bother to dress them out and actually eat them? Do the dead birds get wasted twice?

of the VP and the Senators to give our minds an opportunity to step back to a time that was so mean spirited.

Well, maybe it is an appropriate setting to remind us that everyone of us that voted for the Democratic Tickets have been put on a plantation for the next four long years.

6. Was it a canned hunt? Last couple of years that's how Cheney
has shot ducks and pheasants. He caught a lot of flack last year after a newspaper reported the hunt at Rolling Rock in PA was a canned hunt where farm raised pheasants and ducks were released for the VP to shoot. His party last year took around 500 ducks and pheasants in a very short time.

BTW, I remember reading the VP has quite an arsenal including full auto weapons that he takes out to the Secret Service range.

I think we ought to ship Uncle Dick over to Iraq where the ducks shoot back!
