BAGHDAD - A US soldier was killed late Monday in Al-Anbar, bringing to the three the number of soldiers killed in the restive Iraqi Sunni province the same day, the US military said in a statement Tuesday.

"A soldier assigned to the I Marine Expeditionary Force died yesterday bringing to three the number of soldiers who died while conducting security and stability operations in the Al-Anbar Province," the statement said.

The statement did not provide any details on the circumstances of the deaths, but earlier Monday the military had reported US casualties in a suicide car bomb attack in Ramadi, an insurgent bastion which lies in the Al-Anbar province.

~snip~

Despite President George W. Bush's belief that by reelecting him Americans expressed support for the war on Iraq, two opinion polls published Tuesday showed the opposite: the majority think the war was a mistake and disapprove of the way he is handling things in Iraq.

2. Why did it take the American public......
so long to catch on to this fact that was so obvious to us? Why do we always have to learn the hard way? What the hell are they teaching people in schools nowadays? What the hell are parents teaching their children? My parents taught me to think independently and critically and question everything.

Oh, and don't you just love the terminology - "restive" province. What the hell is "restive" about a war zone?

Well, as long as some of the American public are stupid enough to send their sons and daughters off to fight the Bush family's oil wars than I shouldn't worry as long as my loved ones don't go.
