Blair calls prisoner abuse photos 'appalling'
news:
Responding to a new series of photos depicting the alleged abuse of Iraqi prisoners by British troops, Prime Minister Tony Blair said he was both shocked and appalled.

The controversial pictures now making headlines across the U.K. came to light during the courts martial of three British soldiers in Osnabrueck, Germany. The troops, all from the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers, are charged with abusing looters who had been detained at the British camp near Basra, southern Iraq in the spring of 2003.

The 22 photos include depictions of naked Iraqis being forced to simulate sex acts and a bound prisoner being dangled from a foklift truck.

3. Get real Tony!!!
"The difference between democracy and tyranny is not that in a democracy bad things don't happen," he said. "It is that in a democracy, when they do happen, people are held to account." (Blair)

:wtf: Get real Tony! Get real would you? You are accountable for this! You Tony Blair! YOU!!!!!

9. So which are the U.K. and U.S. again.
Or does holding low level scapegoats to account constitute sufficient grounds to be called a democracy? If so, I am sure that plenty of regimes previously thought of as tyrannies have met the standard, too.

4. I am sure Blair will also say it is 'a few bad apples' and has nothing...
to do with his part in the illegal invasion, occupation and killing of Iraqis.

16. Yes they are already trotting out the 'few bad apples' crap

The same old lies were used to explain similar abuses by the British army in Ireland, Aden, Malaysia etc. In fact the habit is so engrained that when there is not a war going on the soldiers spend much of their time torturing each other

Blair is 'appalled' because these events once again highlight the endless stream of lies that vomit from his mouth. The pictures just confirm the misery that his lousy, rotten, illegal war has brought to the people of Iraq.

US uses banned weapon ..but was Tony Blair told?

By Paul Gilfeather Political Editor

US troops are secretly using outlawed napalm gas to wipe out remaining insurgents in and around Fallujah.

News that President George W. Bush has sanctioned the use of napalm, a deadly cocktail of polystyrene and jet fuel banned by the United Nations in 1980, will stun governments around the world.

And last night Tony Blair was dragged into the row as furious Labour MPs demanded he face the Commons over it. Reports claim that innocent civilians have died in napalm attacks, which turn victims into human fireballs as the gel bonds flames to flesh.

Outraged critics have also demanded that Mr Blair threatens to withdraw British troops from Iraq unless the US abandons one of the world's most reviled weapons. Halifax Labour MP Alice Mahon said: "I am calling on Mr Blair to make an emergency statement to the Commons to explain why this is happening. It begs the question: 'Did we know about this hideous weapon's use in Iraq?'"

10. Tony sees napalm as a profit center
Now that he's on board he gets bonus money for each napalm sale.

11. Bush probably found them stimulating and exciting. I wonder if
he keeps them hidden under the bed so Pickles won't know he has them.

14. Appalled by your own handiwork, Tony?
Gosh, if only millions of people had marched in the streets ahead of time to tell you not to get on board the Atrocity Express, huh Tony?

Enjoy the dock at The Hague.
