Extreme Associates Obscenity Case Dismissed

CHATSWORTH, Calif. - In a development that surprised even himself, obscenity charges against producer Rob Black of Extreme Associates have been thrown out of court by a federal judge in Pittsburgh.

“I’m still speechless,” Black told AVN.com. “All ten counts against us were dismissed.” He said that Judge Lancaster had also ruled that obscenity laws are unconstitutional.

Holy crap! This is the best news I've heard all year! We have a new county judge taking office in August and I was sure he would come after our store. What a relief! It's not a nice feeling that you can be arrested any day of the week for selling a movie.

2. If the judge actually ruled all obscenity laws unconstitutional
That means the right wing is going to go crazy and start trying to pass tricky laws or change the constitution to stop free speech.

Maybe porn will be the next gay marriage.

3. Not Surprised
There is way too much so-called legitimate money in the adult entertainment business from some very good buddies of the BFEE. Ashcroft was just allowed to have a little fun while wasting the taxpayers money on this dumb shit case.

Rob Black is an asshole and Extreme stuff is mostly garbage but there is a whole lot worse than this. If Justice really wanted to make an issue out of this, it wouldn't have happened in Pittsburgh it would have been in the heartland where the audience would have been more supportive.

This is all old hat anyway since the Meese commission crapped out on this issue in the 80's. They only revisited it in order to appease the fundies before the election. Another little PR move by the American Mafia.
