US fails to win over UN sceptics on Iraq
UNITED NATIONS (AFP) - The United States failed to convince sceptics on the UN Security Council as it spelled out a draft resolution that diplomats said did not match their vision of how to run post-war Iraq (news - web sites).

France said the draft snubbed its concerns while UN Secretary General Kofi Annan (news - web sites), in unusually strong language, said the text was moving in the wrong direction as the divided council again struggled to find common ground.

Comment: It's going to happen again. They won't even get a resolution passed at the UN or they're going to take their ball and go home and not even try. Biggest diplomatic failure in history, take II.

2. Isn't the word "skeptic?"
I hate how stupid reporters seem to be these days. Just like the one on CNN who pronounced Charlotte (N.C.): Char-latte.

3. I thought Bush had traded something to bribe Putin??...
But this sounds like Russia is not on board. You mean the King himself failed at diplomacy? As well as war-criminal Negroponte?

For it to be a "Massive Failure" wouldn't you have to have made a good faith effort to succeed at Diplomacy? This administration has done nothing but talk down to the rest of the world as if they were misbehaving schoolchildren instead of intelligent, educated adults with an opinion and viewpoints that stand firmly on the basis of FACTS, which this administration can't handle. They do much better with inferences, conjectures and insinuations.
