Authors Paint Bush as Liar in Flurry of New Books
NEW YORK (Reuters) - Bookstore display tables give the distinct impression there is a lot of lying going on in America these days, with President Bush (news - web sites) and his top advisers portrayed as the main culprits.

"Anything that was seen as anti-American was almost impossible to sell and I think the publishers' feelings were reflecting the marketplace, that people were not going to buy," Kleinman said.

But that has changed. Industry publications and best-seller lists show that some anti-Bush books are now selling well as the former Texas governor prepares to run for a second term in November 2004 and 10 Democrats vie for the challenger's mantle.

One Publishers Weekly reviewer remarked that "liberals are fighting back" against liberal-bashing from right-wing commentators on TV, radio, online and in print.

We have finally joined the fray. For years we said nothing because their accusations were so ridiculous that we let them slide on through and build a consituency. We have our work ahead of us but fortunately Bush is laying the groundwork for our success.

2. Rate the article! And they gave him a DEMOTION!
"the former texas governor....."

That's BAD (for bush). He doesn't even rate as being referred to as the incumbent president.

Ah, the subtle nuances of language. Gotta love it.

9. I believe the technically proper term for Bush* is 'tyrant'
Not so much just in the current modern usage as a brutal dictator (although that's true enough), but more in the original classical Greek meaning as a ruler who pretends to legitimacy after seizing power by force or fraud.

4. Did anyone know O'Reilly has a new book out?
WHO'S LOOKING OUT FOR YOU? by Bill O'Reilly. (Broadway, $24.95.) The host of "The O'Reilly Factor" attacks those individuals and institutions that he believes have let down the American people.

Awfully quiet release. First week anywhere on the NY Times bestseller list, and it's #1. Pushed Al's book out of #1 after 6 weeks in that spot. Bulk sales? No dagger, though...

16. Just incase you feel like a barf
O'Reilly will be on NPR's "Fresh Air" tomorrow to push his book. Terry Gross indicated that she wants to disscuss the "Franken factor" with the liar.

5. It's another example of how "traditional political wisdom"
about what flies and what doesn't fly is simply a pile of steaming hawk crap.

8. Hats off to Reuters!
For using the phrase "prepares to run for a second term," instead of saying "re-election."

AT LAST, a (somewhat) major media source got it right!

10. Anti-Bush is not anti-American
Earth to media: War is not peace! The truth is not partisan and saying it is not unpatriotic. BTW, it's 2003 not 1984.
:freak:

Isn't it?

11. Anti-Bush is showing your patriotistm!
This is how the patriots must have felt about the English way back when. At the age of 64 I'm ready to start marching to get rid of these disgusting people!
