Afghan battle 'worst in months'

Heavy fighting between two warlords in northern Afghanistan has left up to 80 fighters dead or wounded.

The battles, between followers of Abdul Rashid Dostum and Mohammad Atta, "are the worst we've seen in months," a foreign ministry spokesman said.

"From night up to now we have more than 70 soldiers killed and injured, Mohammad Atta's deputy, General Abdul Sabor told the AFP news agency.

The heaviest fighting, which broke out on Wednesday, was 60 kilometres west of the city of Mazar-e-Sharif.

Remember the War in Afghanistan? Seems like things are getting worse everyday. In the meantime, has anyone seen Osama?
