Bus Accident Leaves Six Dead in Louisiana

NEW ORLEANS - A church bus slammed into the rear of a parked tractor-trailer on a Louisiana highway Monday, killing six people, state police said.

The bus was headed east when it left the highway and struck the rear of the truck, which was broken down on the side of the road, said Lt. William Davis of the Louisiana State Police.

The accident occurred on Interstate 20 about 20 miles west of Tallulah, which is near the Mississippi border.

"It appears (the driver) fell asleep," Davis said.

The bus was carrying 15 people, all members of the First Baptist Church of Eldorado, Texas, Davis said.

Church buses seem to be one of the most dangerous places to be.

3. OMG....that's the second church bus crash in less than a year.....

...and that's only 40 miles east of here....the last one was only about 40 miles west of here...how freaky bizarre. :(
