Investors block Murdoch's bid to reward executives

News Corporation chief Rupert Murdoch has been dealt an embarrassing rebuff by Australian institutional investors at today's Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Adelaide.

They used their numbers to force him to withdraw a resolution to give large share options to his executives.

He was also forced to defend the small dividend being paid, in the light of the global media giant's record profit last financial year of $4.4 billion
