A Day In Iraq: 15 Attacks On U.S.

Assailants ambushed a U.S. Army foot patrol just outside Fallujah at midday Monday, killing one American and wounding five others in the second day of attacks in this anti-U.S. hotbed west of Baghdad, the American command reported.

The patrol, from the 82nd Airborne Division, was first hit by an exploding homemade bomb, and then by small-arms fire, the military said. American troops then raided a nearby mosque in an apparent search for the attackers and detained three Iraqis.

It could not be learned immediately whether there were any Iraqi casualties, although two civilian trucks were damaged in the action, including one left dangling on a bridge, apparently from what witnesses said was a rocket-propelled grenade strike.

Pics in report: left side top pic, I think is staged:
1. I don't the soldier kneeling, left side, would turn his back on the truck if it was a threat. (I wouldn't and I don't have any military training, just common sense.)
2. I don't think the soldier would open the door with his hand or be so close to the vehichle because it could be booby-trapped to explode when opened.
3. I'd check the trailer before I checked the cab. That seems like common sense. The trailer is secure because it's metal secure 'box'. Then I'd look into the cab from the trailer and/or crawl down unto the hood and peer into the window.

I love it when Repug (and some Dem) congressmen go over there and come back saying how safe and secure everything is....

Not only the national press by doing interviews with regional press, but the regional press by making them look like they were dumber and more gullible than the national press. No wonder the "Good News Offensive" is under attack.

This reminds me of the video footage they showed after the fall of Baghdad with soldiers unscrewing the tips of artillery shells and sniffing for biological agents. It really struck me because they showed the video over and over again always with a voiceover talking about WMD.

My guess is that most of the war footage we see on the news is staged.
