Seven U.S. Soldiers Killed
Seven U.S. Soldiers Killed
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Big News Network.com Thursday 23rd October, 2003

Seven U.S. troops were killed, or wounded, in two attacks in Iraq Wednesday, witnesses said.

A roadside bomb hit a U.S. Humvee inside a tunnel in the center of the Iraqi capital, wounding three soldiers, witnesses said.

snip....
The tunnel was the scene of three previous attacks against U.S. troops.

In Faluja, about 35 miles west of Baghdad, witnesses said an explosive charge targeted a U.S. military convoy as it passed on a main bridge in the city, killing or wounding four soldiers.

2. this news story seems to have a real
difficulty in articulating whether these soldiers were killed or wounded -

I am confused

regardless, it is dreadful that our soldiers are taking such casualties - I do hope they will be okay :(

3. and again, I ask: how many have to die?
before people realize how screwed up this is. This violence will never abate. It's on the rise, not the decline, and yet we're supposed to believe that 'things in Iraq are getting better'? Please, spare me the neocon spin. We should pull out of Iraq now, and congress should make a law that would never again allow a war of aggression by the US.

9. I heard this last night on the radio
and they said no one was killed..

I am beginning to think that we will NEVER know what'a happening there.. It's pretty amazing to me that there are not more news people over there.. It would not surprise me a bit if they are being kept away deliberately.. The stuff that's happened "after" the war is more important than what happened during..

The govt does not want the public to know.

11. Agree, post war IS what is important
Iraq rolled over and let us in like a little dog. The only resistance came from mid-level leaders who didn't get their checks in time from the pentagon's errand boys. Bush* wanted the media gone from Iraq so he could do what the Neocons wanted without prying eyes. Harder for us to see how Halliburton is looting the coutnry and fleecing the US taxpayer.

10. Nottingham Posted the Same as Article is Titled
and they way they are trying to hide all these soldiers' deaths - I suspect it was written to be purposely misleading. We are not getting the truth and we all know it. Seven killed would not surprise me at all as it was reported yesterday attacks have gone from about 20 a day to 45. Information is information - and this may be the best we can get.

Thanks for posting. Shocking really. How many more?

14. Locking...
The link provided by Nottingham does not lead to the story, and the story can no longer be found on the Big News Network website.

Since the claims that the headline of the article is misleading cannot be substantiated, and the story itself cannot be found, I'm locking this thread. Please feel free to re-post this story with a new news link as it becomes available.

Thanks!
