Bush Vows U.S. Will Stay in Iraq

Shrub ALWAYS says the opposite of what he means.

Withdrawal from Iraq is the right idea. However, Bush won't do it before

1) suitable patsies are found to die in the place of US soldiers;

2) the retreat can be blamed upon Democrats.

The ghost of Vietnam - thought to be exorcized - is rising from the grave. For Bush to turn defeat in Iraq into victory at the polls, he probably needs to turn the culture war heat way up (eg, it's all the fault of the liberal 'blame America first' crowd). If he plays this game, you'll see some Democratic candidates in a panic.

out of Iraq, probably around March (will try and find thread), and I said that he may want to, but the bombings, killings, etc. will not be going away and he can never declare success in Iraq and pull out with that messy backdrop. Even Rove must know that, or are they really that arrogant that they think they can get away with that?

I maintain it's a distinct possibility that they will declare victory and pull out before the next election. Possibly leaving a military presence in a few heavily fortified military bases that Halliburton is currently building.

They will draft a constitution, have a sham election, declare mission accomplished, and leave.

Its not working to well any more and they know it.

I did not know that Iraq is a dangerous place. Dumb me. Gee--I thought we would be clomping through two foot high piles of flowers--right through the Ishtar Gate--

Can someone with more clout that I would ever have,(although that does not stop me from calling and writing to my reps in Congress) please suggest to the venerable United States Congress that George Bush is really quite a stupid idiot, way in over his head, and is not competent to lead this country, and therefore should be impeached? Can you do that guys? Can you see what a mindless, jerk he is and how he does not care one whit about those there who would be killed, as he is quite willing to blame them in order to save his own face from ridicule. Why let him go on and on while soldiers, our children, are being killed, to raise more money, to indeed, raise obscene amounts of money to see to it that he, the idiot, is once more going to be occupying the White HOuse for four more years? Please someone, take him out of the White HOuse--He is not competent--he is destroying this country in record time.

Does he mean to say we are Leveling Iraq?

You see, he is really leveling with us on this one, and he wants us to know that it IS A DANGEROUS PLACE. This could be good advice.

By pulling out of Iraq, it is screaming our failure in Iraq.
This will kill Bush if he does pull out...
