Rice Aides Slam Comment that US Made "Mistake"
After Angela Merkel said Tuesday that the US admitted it erred in detaining a German national, Rice's aides challenged her comments, saying they weren't sure "what was in (Merkel's) head" when she said what she did.

Speaking to the press after a meeting with US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice in Berlin Tuesday, Merkel said she had discussed the case of Khaled el-Masri, a Lebanese-born German national who was reportedly abducted by CIA operatives and held in Afghanistan for several months.

"The American administration has admitted that this man was erroneously taken," Merkel told reporters.

But senior US officials, who are travelling with Rice on her European tour, disagreed with Merkel's interpretation. After the news conference, they met with the chancellor's aides and asked for a explanation, saying Rice had not actually admitted to a US mistake over Masri.

Guess that Merkel has to learn a new english to understand communication. Oh well, she is new at it and will soon learn.

In what altnernate universe is Condoleezza Rice a barometer of reality?

"Merkel's interpretation" aka "what really happened".

13. "We recognize any policy will sometimes result in errors"
"We recognize any policy will sometimes result in errors, and when it happens, we will do everything we can to rectify it," Rice said at the start of a European tour overshadowed by allegations of illegal
CIA methods against terrorist suspects.

7. "Merkel has to learn a new english to understand communication"
Guess she needs a copy of the Newspeak Dictionary (sorry, the ninth edition is all I have at the moment. Paper shortages, you know. It's the war effort). In it, she will find that "mistake", "erroneously" and "admit" are words only applied to Eurasia, or traitors. Big Brother just makes "actions misunderstood by imperfect party members", in a "misreported" fashion, which is "clarified" by the Ministry of Truth.

17. This does not surprise me.
I just read an article in the India Times that the U.S. delegation insulted some Indian officials.

One American called the foreign minister "an imbecile" and said something to the effect that "he is retarded". The Indian delegation was shocked. It raised a big furor, but the Hindus quickly settled down and let the incident pass.

Can you imagine our country, saying shit like that about other dignitaries. If the rest of the world hasn't figured out what they're dealing with, let there be no ambiguity: THESE GUYS ARE LUNATICS.
