Wolfowitz, Former U.S. Official, Says Iraq War Was Justified

Dec. 7 (Bloomberg) -- Paul Wolfowitz, a former U.S. deputy defense secretary, said toppling Saddam Hussein was justified and that he believes Iraq will now become ``an ally for tolerance and freedom.''

Wolfowitz, who is now president of the World Bank, was one of the main figures in helping to design and make the case in public for the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq in March 2003. Wolfowitz today said there were three reasons why Hussein was considered a threat: He had the capability to acquire weapons of mass destruction, he supported terrorism, and he had attempted to carry out genocide.

He said the testimony in the trial of Hussein now going on in Baghdad highlights the reasons why the country had to be ``liberated.''

7. But those aren't the reasons you GAVE, Wolfie
You didn't go to the UN and ask to LIBERATE Iraq from Saddam's brutality. You sent Powell there to LIE about WMD.

10. Of course he'd say that. He started it.
As much as Rove is "the architect" of Shrub's power, Wolfie is "the architect" of the Iraq war.

His concept, his (lack of) organization, his responsibility.

14. In order for Wolfowitz to enter the post...
he needed support from the countries such as Germany, France and Belgium. I guess the countries of the World don't mind dealing with neo-conservatives as long as their is lots of money involved. It will be hard for any country to boycott us in the future.

Edited on Wed Dec-07-05 03:41 PM by wordpix
matter what country they're from. Only concern is to make money---usually from land rape, natural resource and human exploitation. They don't give a shit about national interests---only money-making corporate interests.

I'm sure Wolfie at the WB is promising US national lands and resources in exchange for more borrowing from Chinese, etc. so we can keep this Iraq War going and make Big Oil more money.

* invaded Iraq for the oil.

By this prick's logic, Iraq's invasion of Kuwait was also justified.

All of these idiots have that sick, twisted, evil look on their face. Wolfie and dickyboy robot lead the pack.
