Bolivia MAS Warns Oil Transnationals
When Donald Rumsfeld was in neighboring Paraguay to review US troops engaged on the war on "terror," he threatened Bolivia and he also said that MAS was not a legitimate political party. Luckily for the Bolivians, the bulk of the American military is bogged down in the quagmire of Iraq, unable to be used elsewhere.

Bolivia MAS Warns Oil Transnationals

La Paz, Dec 10 (Prensa Latina) The Bolivian Movement Towards Socialism (MAS) warned that oil transnationals will need to respect the country or be imprisoned or expelled if the leftwing reaches the government.

The statement was made in eastern Santa Cruz by MAS vice presidential candidate Alvaro Garcia Linera, who is considered moderate in relation to the indigenous leader and presidential candidate of the organization Evo Morales.

With an academic´s elegant manners that have contributed to his reputation, Garcia Linera warned that the oil company executives that have cheated the State, smuggled, or committed other crimes, "will be jailed and the companies put under state control."

"We will not take actions against the companies that operate legally and efficiently. A MAS government will guarantee them investment security, recovery of their capital and profits within international regulations," he said.

After the warning, oil-pipeline TRANSREDES consortium Executive Hugo Vits held that his company is willing to negotiate with the government to be elected on December 18.
