Jeanine to disa-Pirro from race vs. Hil (NY Senate)
Edited on Sun Dec-11-05 02:18 PM by brooklynite
Jeanine Pirro is expected to quit her bid to unseat Sen. Hillary Clinton as early as tomorrow, prematurely ending what had been billed as one of the nation's marquee races.

...snip...

GOP insiders said they expect her to toss in the towel tomorrow when Republican leaders meet in Albany to gear up for next year's elections, which also feature races for governor, state attorney general, Congress and all 212 state lawmakers.

Officially, her campaign says Pirro has no plans to quit, but sources said she will be "drafted" to run for attorney general, a job for which many of her backers say she is well qualified given her background as a prosecutor and former judge.

1. Good, they can shift the Dem NY money to other races
What a shitty candidate Pirro was...and how in the world do they think she will make a great AG? She probably knows more about prison than most, given her hubby:

Sources close to the Pirro camp said Clinton's popularity was not her only obstacle. Besides her fund-raising problem, Pirro also was hurt by the media spotlight on her husband, Al Pirro, a lobbyist who did prison time for tax evasion.

What, are the GOP idiots up there, or something????

2. Lazio, Giuliani, Pirro ---------- Way to Go, Senator!
Edited on Sun Dec-11-05 02:50 PM by UTUSN
And there always seems to be a spectacular physical sign-----LAZIO's pratfall in a parade, Giuliani's health, Pirro's pages gap in her speech-reading.

6. NYS Republican Party is in SHAMBLES
Upstate, Downstate, you name it. And the Conservative Party is barely getting enough enough votes to avoid extinction. Hell, according to the latest stats I read, even registered Independents are about to overtake registered Republicans.

Stick a fork in in Republicans/Conservatives.

7. Did anybody else get a mailing from Pirro?
I did, and I live in WA state. Can't figure out what list she used. The return envelope was not postage paid, so perhaps someone knows that I'm the type that would have sent it back to her with some not so nice comments if it had been.
