Bush denounces abuses in Iraqi jails

PHILADELPHIA, Dec 12 (Reuters) - U.S. President George W. Bush on Monday declared as unacceptable the beating and torture of Sunnis found in prisons in Iraq and said those responsible must be held accountable.

Bush cited the recent discovery of prisons in Iraq "where mostly Sunni men were held, some of whom have appeared to have been beaten and tortured."

"This conduct is unacceptable, and the prime minister and other Iraqi officials have condemned these abuses, and an investigation has been launched and we support these efforts. Those who committed these crimes must be held to account," Bush said.

3. Yup. I read that those photos

are so horrifice, they make the last batch look like Tea Time in Kindergarten.

The Pentagon fought like hell to keep those photos under wraps. They said that "if they were released, they might cause rioting in the streets".
