Bush says Iran a 'real threat' (has objective to "end tyranny")

Bush says Iran a 'real threat'

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. President George W. Bush on Wednesday called Iran a "real threat" and lashed out at President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad over the country's nuclear program and calls for the destruction of Israel.

"Iran's a real threat," Bush told Fox News in an interview in which he repeated his charge that Iran was part of an "axis of evil" along with North Korea and prewar Iraq. "I called it part of the 'axis of evil' for a reason," Bush said.

"I'm concerned about a theocracy that has got little transparency, a country whose president has declared the destruction of Israel as part of their foreign policy, and a country that will not listen to the demands of the free world to get rid of its ambitions to have a nuclear weapon," Bush said in the interview.

...

In dealing with Iran, Bush said he continued "to work the diplomatic front," but that his objective was to "end tyranny."

13. Aha! That is why he is holding our troops in Iraq. As soon
as the Iraqis vote and have their "democracy" those troops will turn to Iran and invade. He will do it. There is no doubt in my mind. He is insane enough to do it. Troops already in the axis zone.

51. IMO, that is also why he has Israel rattling their sabre.
Iran DOES hate Israel, so if Bush can get Israel to throw the first punch, then he can come to Israel's aid without looking like he was the one who invaded Iran.

Iran is no threat. No Arab nation is such a threat that invasion is necessary. This announcement is just a signal that Bush'll try and invade there too. Too bad the Russian Federation'll step in and tell them to pack their bags and go home.

Thank you, Russia!! You haven't lost your punch!

I am sorry to say because it will take a very long time to wash the humiliation away. This is absolutely unparalleled in history, except perhaps with some last heirs of ancient Roman or chinese dynasties. Electing a Reagan did open the door but this just cannot be beat. Nothing else to do than to let time flow and wait for this abominable stupid clown to go write his memoirs.

21. Plumbing new depths of imbecility, Bush is.
Attack Iran? With what? And how? Attack Iran and you have a hostile force to the rear (Iraq). Our military forces are depleted to a greater degree than the right-wing assclowns could EVER accuse Bill Clinton of doing, Iran is three times larger than Iraq, and highly mountainous. It would be Vietnam, the Soviets' Afghanistan round-trip, and the Indian Mutiny of 1847 all rolled in to one.

Someone hook him off the stage. :banghead:

24. Can we get a restraining order to keep Bush away from the White House?
It's plain for everyone to see that HE IS THE THREAT. He has already done great damage to the country, and to the world.

Is there not a way to get a restraining order to stop this administration from doing any more damage than it's already done?

Just a thought.

26. How can a tyrant march safely in the middle of a million people?
I mean, tyrants are evil, their people oppressed and so forth, yet Iran's evil president is able to participate in a demonstration of one million people with just five bodyguards.

Why is it that a tyrant can do that safely, while leaders of many 'free' countries dare not?

Iran leader reiterates anti-Israel stance
TEHRAN, Iran - Iran's ultraconservative president - spurning international outrage over his remarks about Israel - joined more than a million demonstrators who flooded the streets of the capital and other major cities Friday to back his call for the destruction of the Jewish state.

It is not uncommon for an Iranian president to join marches in the capital. Ahmadinejad was accompanied by five bodyguards, but otherwise security was not out of the ordinary for such an event.

So, now countries he invades have to be classed as:

- not really threats.
- real threats (which turn out to be not really threats later).

Bush is the real threat to world peace.

You cannot "win" in Iran, doofus. Did you and your PNAC buddies ever Really Look at a map of the Middle East? Did you chance to look at what is north of Iran? Hint: it is not an Islamic state. We know you want to own the ME all for the oil, but it just ain't gonna happen. As to diplomatic, I don't think the concept or word exists inside your bubble, Georgie boy.

Iran is a big, rugged country, and you folks will have no more success there then you did in Afghanistan, where all you "hold" is Kabul, if that.

34. I have figured out the the bush doctrine criterion for invading countries
and dont worry, Iran does not qualify.

Bush criterion for preemptive invasion is:
1) The leader of the non-allied country might give nukes, chemical or bio weapons to a terrorist
2) The country has a valuable resources, particularly oil.
3) The likud party, and think tank people with dual loyalties to US/Israel-Likud, think the invasion of the country would be good for israel.
4) Bush thinks the invasion would be "easy"; and,
5) The invasion would not adversely affect existing US business interests.

Iran will not be invaded and occupied because that would fail the "easy" prong. However, an airstrike would not be ruled out.

44. "end tyranny" -- wait until I share this with my Iranian friends ...
They have a fine appreciation of irony -- and they will certainly point out that it was the CIA which got rid of their elected Prime Minister and installed the brutal Shah, back in 1953!

To quote one of them: "First you don't want us to vote for a government ... now you want us to vote ... make up your minds!"

And to think that Iranians respected and admired America -- to them, the British were the real villains -- and were shocked that such a thing would be allowed to happen. (Many of them actually felt that there must be some mistake, and that Britain must have lied to the US in order to get them onside.)
