Murtha asks for money for Democratic Party
The chairman of the National Republican Congressional Committee on Friday accused Rep. John Murtha of turning his anti-war stance into a fundraising ploy.

The statement from Rep. Tom Reynolds, R-N.Y., came hours after Murtha, D-Pa., sent an e-mail message to Democratic supporters asking for donations to the party.

"I am saddened to see my friend from Pennsylvania, John Murtha, turn his widely respected positions on the war in Iraq into a fundraising ploy for House Democrats," Reynolds said in a statement.

.......

"While this issue of war is neither a Democratic nor a Republican one, this need for new leadership in the House is clearly a party issue," Murtha said in the e-mail message, which contains links to donate money.

1. Damn that Murtha
How dare he steal a puke idea -- which I doubt is what he's doing. I mean, when have the pukies ever used a tragedy as a fundraising ploy? Do the numbers 9 and 11 mean anything? I'm sure that moron Reynolds sees it as a fundraising "ploy" because that's what his party does all the time.

2. Now that's the dumbest thing I've read
since..well, I've read a lot of dumb Republican stuff lately, but that is just too stupid.
Good grief. Murtha can use any point he wants to raise money. That's what politics is about!
People who agree with you about topics give you money to help you advance a cause.

7. I got it but I have already deleted it from my mailbox
He said he got 40,000 signatures on his petition and I was disappointed as I thought he would have got a lot more. I signed it.

13. Mr. Murtha, I will donate all I can when,
you endorse and work hard for, free national health care for everyone, only paper ballots in all national elections, term limits for all federal offices, harsh "real time" prison sentences for elections law violations, treaties demanding that any overseas trading partners adhere to our environmental and labor laws including minimum wage, endorse and work for a "living wage" and a maximum wage for corporate executives tied to the minimum wage or new "living wage" and the withdrawal of ALL US Troops from outside the borders of the US and its territories.....for a start. In other words I'll donate when you move a little to the left and oh yeah, welcome to MY party (obviously not todays Democratic party).

8. "HIs widely respected positions"?
Pardon me, is that what Reynolds said?

How widely respected was it when they twisted his words before they voted on it?
