Bush signs stop-gap spending bill to Dec 31

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President George W. Bush signed into law a stop-gap spending bill on Sunday to keep U.S. military and social services programs operating through December 31.

The legislation was needed because Congress has not yet passed two fiscal 2006 spending bills for the Defense Department, Department of Health and Human Services and Labor Department.

The 2006 fiscal year began on October 1 and these agencies have been operating on a series of temporary funding bills since then.

1. Stop gap = band aid on an artery wound
Fiscal irresponsibility would be putting this crap mildly!

We're beyond rolling pennies for gas broke!

Gas has gone up .30 in past week here in OHIO. WTF??

5. I too have noticed the increasing gasoline prices [again...]
Here in Upstate, New York (Scottsville) and surrounding areas, that gasoline prices have been edging back up into the high 2.40's again...

Something tells me that all is NOT right...
