MSNBC: Pirro to withdraw from run against Hillary Clinton tomorrow
Delay is to allow her to make sure her copy of her withdrawal speech has all its pages.

5. Well, having heard Pirro on cable TV several times,
I'm sure she's not a nice person to be near right now!

She's always been a very arrogant RW attorney, and those folks don't take defeat kindly!

I wasn't at all worried about her defeating Hillary, but I'm glad to see her have to cower in defeat.

I wonder who the Pubs will throw out there now?????

32. ROFL
Keyes should present a MAJOR CHALLENGE here to HIllary with his philosophy of locking a pregnant daughter in a closet for 9 months to prevent an abortion (no NEED in his case). OR totally disowning his gay daughter and throwing her out in the streets.

Yes, much more credible candidate for NEW YORK Senate than Hillary. :sarcasm:

15. AP: Sources: Pirro to leave race, run for AG
Sources: Pirro to leave race, run for AG

THE ASSOCIATED PRESS

December 21, 2005, 12:59 AM EST

Jeanine Pirro has decided to halt her struggling campaign for the Republican nomination to challenge
Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton's 2006 re-election bid and will run instead for state attorney general,
two Republicans said Wednesday.

The Republicans, who are close to the situation and spoke to The Associated Press only on condition
of anonymity because they were not authorized to release the information, said an announcement from
the high-profile Westchester County district attorney could come as early as Thursday.

There was no immediate comment from Pirro.

18. You know, Lazio actually outspent Clinton by like $10million
And he was still slaughtered. Just think of what all that money could have been used for instead of trying to bring down the Clintons.

She's proven she's a shitty candidate. So now she thinks she can just jump on the AG race?

Please Miss Thang!

21. You gotta love this ....
Some supporters expect Manhattan lawyer Edward Cox, a son-in-law of the late President Richard Nixon, to consider re-entering the race should Pirro quit the campaign. Cox halted his campaign for the Senate nomination in October after Republican Gov. George Pataki announced his endorsement of Pirro.

Pataki's endorsement was the high point for a troubled Pirro campaign that began in August. At her campaign announcement, a page of her speech was misplaced and she was left speechless for 32 seconds. Her campaign had trouble gaining any traction against the popular Clinton and difficulty raising money.

Pataki looks like an idiot for his endorsement of La Pirro.

All her opponents would have to do is rent that commerical where she muffs the speech, and the announcer says, "Without a script--speechless"!

20. I was talking to my brother who has all the details
According to him, the NYS Republican Party is in such a shambles that both houses and the governor's mansion are likely to go Democratic next fall. I'd cheer, except that the Democratic Party in NYS is also in disarray. We throw up decent candidates from time to time, but we can't seem to build a party. The result is that the state is governed by three men in a room.

28. Sen. Clinton's GOP challenger quits race
NEW YORK (CNN) -- Jeanine Pirro, the longtime prosecutor who had been set to run against Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton next year, has decided to drop out of the U.S. Senate race in New York, she announced Wednesday.

Pirro instead will run for state attorney general.

"I have decided that my law enforcement background better qualifies me for a race for New York State Attorney General than a race for the United States Senate," Pirro said in a statement. "I have concluded that my head and my heart remain in law enforcement, and that my public service should continue to be in that arena."

(very interesting....are republicans greasing the skids for clinton, and if so, why?)

31. William Weld will now take Pirro's place
Edited on Wed Dec-21-05 05:44 PM by ...of J.Temperance
He's a carpetbagger, was Governor of Massachucetts. He's a moderate Republican...President Clinton wanted to appoint him as Ambassador to someplace I forget, but darn that OBSTRUCTIONIST Republican Senate done went and BLOCKED Weld's nomination.

On Edit: William Weld is going to be tougher than Pirro, which is obviously why Pirro's been forced to drop out.

Message to those who are even THINKING of backing this Green Party fellow because you hate Hillary...if you DO that...they say Goodbye to our New York Senate seat and say Hello to Senator William Weld (R-NY)
