Wicker says GOP, Bush will rebound in new year
Associated Press

COLUMBUS, Miss. - U.S. Rep. Roger Wicker says he expects President Bush and the Republican leadership in Congress to rebound from a December marked by budget battles and a fall in public opinion polls.

Congress is poised for some bruising sessions in January and early February, said Wicker, R-Miss., who is in his third term in the U.S. House.

...

"A couple of weeks ago, he (President Bush) was very frank that first Katrina and then Harriet Myers and some other things cost him a couple of months of momentum," Wicker told The Commercial Dispatch newspaper of Columbus. "He was very aware he had suffered a period of time where he wasn't on top of his game."

In the past two weeks, Bush has begun to turn that around, outlining a clearer strategy for Iraq and touting a strong economy.

1. Sure, okay ...
"... outlining a clearer strategy for Iraq and touting a strong economy."

Anyone who thinks that Bush's recent speeches have demonstrated 'a clearer strategy for Iraq', or thinks THIS is a strong economy, ought to undergo a thorough psychiatric assessment.

when only his mother is willing to admit publicly that she voted for Georgie, he will miss these times.
I expect mid-30s by Valentines.... then down from there.
Roger may be toast too.

3. Dream On, Wicker
The forecast gets worse after February. When the economy implodes, it's all over. The Big Mo is as much a figment of Bush's drug-induced and fevered imagination as WMD in Iraq.

5. Cough cough! We could probably talk non-stop about the BERNIE KERIK'S
disaster. Or the Downing Street Memos.

What is Roger Wicker smoking?

Certainly not intelligence looking

6. So Katrina is reduced to something that made Bush suffer a period of time
where he lost momentum. Just like his own statement at the end of 2001, "All in all it's been a fabulous year for Laura and me."

This is the kind of stupendously ignorant cluelessness exhibited by elected Republicans that will finally sink in, for people in this country who still have a heart.

10. Katrina damage like Iraq
The media isn't showing the good "stuff." sarcasm

Both have been and continue to be disasters. How do they get around that Fact? Now, if the reporters start reporting and stick with a story, kinda like the Monica story, then the masses may get the truth and start voting for people that can think, honor society in general, our constitution, realise the tax breaks are not going to them, their interest rates are going to do them in with bush's strategy, etc.

How long will it take until the masses realise they are losing monitarily under this bunch? Gas prices opened a few eyes. When they start losing their home as they did during the "great" reagan years, then they will start to realise how they have been duped. It's gonna hurt! By the way, I was a reagonite for about 5 years and then the truth hit me. Talk about feeling stupid!

9. Don't forget these names that will be in the news---
--- Fitzgerald. DeLay. Abramoff et al. These names, and the stories connected to them, will cause mucho problems for the Cockroach-In-Chief.

Do these right wing whores like Wicker just take turns cheer leading for President Meathead, or what?!? Who will it be next week?

13. Wicker tells us here that Bush has begun
to turn things around. He's outlining a clearer strategy for Iraq. My question is how? In what way do we have a better plan? From what I can recall, nothing has changed. With Bush, it's always = Stay the course. Don't leave. I do recall seeing a 35-page "outline" for success which was written by a Mr. Feaver. It was nothing but toilet paper which I can use to wipe my butt.

Next quote: "touting a strong economy". What the hell does Touting mean? And since when does "touting" have anything to do with building a strong economy? Which it isn't.

18. Easy to say when you have Diebold and ES&S election theft machines to...
...back you up. You can be completely confident that Bush will "bounce back" in the '06 by-elections, no matter what the polls say.

Recently, in Ohio, four election reform initiatives were on the ballot, predicted to win by 60/40 margins, which, on election day, somehow turned into 60/40 LOSSES!--the most audacious vote-flipping we've seen yet.* They're testing out these systems for big flipovers. As Bush's approval rating reaches Cheney lows (18%, I think), and Republicans suffer only minor losses--and those mostly to "centrist," pro-Mideast war Democrats--they'll say--I can hear it now: "The American public may not have been happy with the Bush junta, but the voters nevertheless decided that they like the idea of being a bankrupt country, and figure arrest without charge, torture and rendition, and Total Spying Awareness, are a small price to pay for freedom, and decided to let the rich have one more round of tax cuts. This will be the one where the Bushi'ites pay the rich $25,000 a head not to file tax returns, in order to reduce gov't waste and inefficiency."

The pundits will be surprised. The polling organizations will be discredited, once and for all. And the Democratic Party will be "shocked, shocked!" that Bushites corporations controlling the vote count with "TRADE SECRET," PROPRIETARY programming code, and virtually no audit/recount controls, could produce another Republican comeback victory.

For Bob Koehler's article on the Ohio initiatives:

23. "The GOP war on brains is in it's last throws...."
I know they don't make these ridiculous statements purely because they're stupid, which they might be, but, because they get their little pat on the head from the Fuhrer in chief when they say this crap.

But, don't they ever tire of looking so stupid?

24. Sadly this is most likely true.
He's screwed things up so bad in the past years that if he doesn't nothing at all it will seem like such a big improvement that poll numbers will shoot up by election time.
Mix that with the fact Democrats are well known for fumbling when it comes time to go for the kill that they will probably have no momentum come election time and once again lose. They've got to come up with a strategy of showing ways to improve instead of just point fingers and saying, "they did it."
