Marines hand out toys to Iraqi children - (more PR campaigning-sigh)

That's sweet. Because when Mommy and Daddy are blown away in a hail of gunfire, a stuffed animal is a great comfort to hug.

At least they aren't handing out GI Joes.

I don't recall Islam celebrating it...so then, the only conclusion I draw from this is the military trying to make themselves feel good...a charitable act loses its' impact when it is done in the glare of TV lights...:dilemma:

As others have noted this is a pr stunt. Iraq is like 98% muslim. But more importantly there has been at least one prior incident of soldiers handing out goodwill presents to children getting attacked by insurgents - it was candy and it was earlier this year - with horrific 'collateral damage' in the form of a whole bunch of dead and wounded kids.

He ranks right up there with Whitney Houston.

It is a dangerous form of p.r.

there's no need to cheapen it.

id like to think youd give our "idiot" troops a little more credit than than. and the iraqi children.

do honestly think our troops would do such a thing knowing it would kill the children? what propaganda-type purpose would giving toys to children that get them killed serve?

giving them ORDERS.. the same ones that SENT THEM THERE TO DIE FOR OIL..

I'm sure it was as much a welcome reprieve for the troops as it was fun for the children.

READ between the lines in this article, at least ONE little kid was SCARED SHITLESS, and I'm willing to bet the rest of them ditched the "toy" before anyone asked them where they got them.

These people leave headless bodies on street corners almost every day, and those bodies are people who HELP the troops..

Now in our country we like to hand out toys each year to celebrate the one true religion, not the heathen one your parents, god bless their souls, if you still have any.. and these toys make the little boys and girls REALLY GLAD to see us even tho we are running around shooting people dead and putting it up on the internet for our pals in Florida to laugh at, and blowing whole villages up.. because Jesus died so we could come over here and make you love him or kill you.

This has nothing to do with the democracy that we are making you have or killing you for, this is about CHRISTMAS.

And what put’s the Christ in Christmas more than toys we all collected from all the other dead boys and girls killed in the shock and awe attack when we first showed up here, and giving those toys to YOU. Now some of you children may have already seen these toys, since they may or may not have come from an older brother or sister, heck, maybe even and aunt or uncle who kept them in their houses before we killed THEM, but I’ll bet you’ll be glad to see them again, and they’ll bring back some good memories of other Christmases you’ve spent with THEM before we utterly destroyed them, okay?
