Senate Minority Leader Plans Tour of "Red" States

U.S. Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid said he's planning a tour of five states traditionally thought to be Republican strongholds to spread the word that it's time for a change in Washington, D.C.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports today that the Democratic senator from Nevada plans to visit Idaho, Utah, Arizona, Colorado and Nebraska next month.

Reid called the Repbublican-led Congress the "most corrupt in history" during a Dec. 18 interview with Fox News, and has been increasingly critical of Republican lawmakers and current scandals in recent interviews.

The Republican Party's response to Reid's planned tour: "pack warm clothes because you may get a chilly reception."

The Republican Party's response to Reid's planned tour: "pack warm clothes because you may get a chilly reception."

What bull. He could go to the reddest of the red states and still find plenty of folks who want a change in Washington. The chilly reception will be for you...you two-bit piece of scum-talking Republican shill.

And on edit: Harry should come to Oklahoma. There were 503,966 people here in this red state who voted for Kerry. Bet there would be a lot more right now.

2. A-haw-haw-haw, "pack warm clothes"
Those RNC guys, what a bunch of cut-ups! How does that saying go? "First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win."

I have a little return advice for the RNC: Dust off your boxing gloves and get out your crying towels, because that looks like the direction you're headed.

4. Good. Reid is following Howard Dean's example
Dean went on a "Red" state tour right after being elected DNC Chair.

I'm glad that Reid is following in sound footsteps.

6. Utah and Nebraska are lost causes
The people there would vote for the guy who is about to hang them as long he had an R next to his name. They're hopeless.

8. I always thought Nebraska might be flipped.
It's technically a Mid-West state, and the Mid-West is becoming a VERY DARK shade of purple.
