CIA couple outed by 5-year-old son

HOUSTON (Reuters) - The Washington couple at the heart of the CIA leak investigation had their cover blown by their small son as they tried to sneak away on vacation on Thursday.

"My daddy's famous, my mommy's a secret spy," declared the 5-year-old of his parents, former diplomat Joe Wilson and retired CIA operative Valerie Plame.

The former spy, who just retired from the agency, and the diplomat have been at the center of a CIA leak scandal that has reached into the White House.

They said they were headed to an undisclosed vacation location with their twins but stopped for a brief interview inside the airport terminal.

The kid was just reading Novak's article on the table that his dad and mom had been reading earlier, which is why he said what he did... Come on! The kid wasn't saying anything that wasn't NOW known, thanks to Libby, Rove, etc. that INITIALLY spilt the beans!

7. Humor is inappropriate re the Plame outing-attempt to soften the outrage.
The world will never know how many of Plame's associates and contacts were tortured/killed after she was outed, or how much death and destruction might have been blocked if her network of information sources had been left in place. The biggest weakness in the true "war against terrorism" is how incredibly difficult it is to infiltrate the terrorist networks. ABC news & Reuters should spend their scarce reporting budget on tracking down & reporting the lethal ripple effects of outing Plame, and shove their cutsey kiddie stories up where the sun don't shine.

Well-put, Divernan.

This is a flimsy attempt to portray Plame and Wilson's offspring (and therefore, them) as indiscreet. The refusal of most mainstream media to examine the fear, suffering, and danger faced by Plame's network after her exposure -- and not incidentally, the long-term damage to US intelligence and the real WMD hunters -- makes it that much worse.

after the kid who spilled the beans? If this actually happened, I'd say someone put the words in the kids mouth and you know damned well it wasn't the parents. Reuters was remiss in bringing the child into this mess by headlining it. The whole report stinks re.'had their cover blown by their small son as they tried to 'sneak away' on vacation'. Hope the Wilsons have good protection.

Undercover agents always tell their five year old what they are up to. They tell their little doggy as well. The cats don't care so they don't tell them.

The child didn't know, but on the out-side chance he did know...someone told him and it wasn't his parents.

Notice that in the article they defined Ms. Plame as a retired CIA operative. That's the word that got David Corn's attention. At least CNN admits her former status.

It was a WMD tracking operation that in previous days had bought up a lot of nuclear material from the former USSR. Plame was as much a simple "agent" as a restaurant manager is a "cook". She had many agents reporting to her. Nice to know that ABC thinks that Rove/Libbey/Novak treason is funny. Ha. Ha.

26. Wonder if they took my Film with them to watch
Joseph Wilson donated (and I sent him three and told him to keep his money) and received copies of my "Rove's War" film, so I'm hoping that he took it with him on vacation to watch it, that would be very cool.. and really when else is he going to have time to watch a 2 DVD Definitive Chronology of the Plame outing, except on Vacation? Wish he'd told me if he was coming to Hawaii..

Tho I doubt he's going to get to watch a movie with that 5 year old around, HE really sounds like a handful.. imagine the Brains on THAT kid, eh? AND the Looks.. both Pretty People :)
